Exclusive Interview with Dj Said Chaara

         
Dj Said Chaara is a renowned International Dj from Brussells, Belgium. He is a dynamic House Music dj. He is definitely someone you should know..


Question:  When did you get started in the music scene?

"I started around 1998"

Question:  How did you get into djing?

"I bought every week the latest new vinyl in the store, and i saw a good DJ from Brussels scene & occasionally also from the international scene.
I brought two turntables & a mixer.
Later I sympathizer with the store manager and he told me he'll be listened to a mixtape to me ... Following this, he told me that a bar was looking for a DJ ... I contacted them & they liked my style ... That's how I started mixing."

Question:  What was your first paid djing gig?

"In the bar where I started playing, I started a monthly party with Guest DJ ... I had the 2nd room in the bar with free rent & 10% of revenue from the bar."

Question:   How would you describe your djing style to people?

" My Styles are Soulful, Deep-House & Afro-Deep... Vocal & Instrumental... “

Question:  When did you first full in love with house music?

" Early in the 90’s ..."

Question: How is the house music scene in Belgium?

"Not really interesting, there is very seldom party "deep & soulful" ... Here is the commercial, electro, trance, progressive, techno are the preferred styles. "

Question: What are the differences between the House music Scene in Europe vs United States?

" The U.S. being the birthplace of the House scene ... it has slowed down, ... L'europe recaptured house music by incorporating its cultural backgroud ... also known to shortness of breath ... & Now the country that gives new life to house music is "The South Africa" ... I think that both of today are similar scene. "

Question: If given the opportunity, where would you love to play at?

" For now, I only played in belgium... But the country would love to play it in south africa... & as public, the Djoon to Paris is a perfect place for soulful... “

Question:   Who were some of our djing musical influences?

" My musical influence are jazz, soul, bossa nova, afro beat, Lounge music, House... "

Question:   Who are some of the artists in the music industry, would you like to work with in me future if given the opportunity?

" A lots a people... It would be a dream to work with as Bodhi Satva artsites & many more... "

Question: What is your most memorable moment in your career?

" Difficult to answer, there have been several... I have a very good memory when I feel an exchange with the public... I just play the music I like without having to stoop to the style of the place or event where I play... "

Question:  What was the best advice that was given to you?

" Don't try to imitate but find your own style “

Question:  How did you get into producing?

" The desire to try to create or remix tracks... But the production takes many time ... we start from nothing and after much work we have the satisfaction... "

Question:  When you aren’t busy djing and promoting; what do you like to do in your free time?

"Enjoying life with family & friends... "


Question:  How do you feel about House Music becoming more digital? Do you think that hurt or help the house music industry?

" It is clear that the vinyl has a warmer sound... But I think we should evolve with time ... It can be bad for the Industry with digital is file sharing. It is very important to buy their favorite tracks for supporting the scene. "

Question: What are some of the house tracks that you are really feeling right now?

Question:  If you could change one thing about the house music industry, what would it be?

" Keep an open mind to different influences ... To maintain some regularity all knowing is perpetually renewed. "

Question:  There is a lot of young and fresh talent out there
waiting to be discovered. What do they have to do for getting recognized and promoted?

" Work hard and be demanding in what we do... Take advantage of Social Networking... Learn & listen to the advice being able to challenge... Don't hesitate to knock on doors to try his luck... "

Question:  What do you see in the future of house music?

" I think it's a style that is now well established ... I hope it can only be better ... It only takes educating the ear of people to recognize the genre in its own right. "

Question:  Can  you tell us about your future plans or Have you any plans (personal or business) that you can share with goals?

"Some remixes coming out, others will follow soon... I work on the preparation of my next EP "
